Yellow Archangel
LEAVES : Opposite, almost triangular.

PLANT HEIGHT : 20–50cm.

FLOWER SIZE : 1.7–2.1cm wide.

FRUIT : Four nutlets at base of calyx.

FLOWERING TIME : April–June.

SIMILAR SPECIES : Yellow Rattle; Large-flowered Hemp-nettle (Galeopsis speciosa) has flowers with a violet blotch.


Yellow Archangel A plant that brightens the landscape with its striking colour in spring, Yellow Archangel has unusually large flowers for a member of the mint family. Each two-lipped flower is bright butter-yellow, with red markings on the lower lip. The paired leaves are almost triangular in outline, with coarse teeth.
