Bogbean

Bogbean
Bogbean is unmistakable when seen en masse, with its white blossoms dotted over the surface of acid bog pools. The flowers appear in a loose cluster on a single stem. Rosy-pink in bud, the fully open flowers are white, each petal with an extraordinary fringe of long white hairs that give the flower a fluffy appearance. Rising up out of the water, the rather fleshy, trifoliate leaves have elliptical leaflets and are reminiscent of those of a garden bean.
